الملخص
Social media fatigue has emerged as a recent phenomenon by which social media users feel fatigued and exhausted as a result of the great amount of technological and psychosocial pressures they are exposed to online, consequently, affecting their usage behaviors of social media and most importantly, their psychological wellbeing. Therefore, this study explores the overloads and behavioral implications of social media fatigue among young adults in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through a cross-sectional study with 350 users. From the lens of the stressor-strain-outcome (SSO) framework, cognitive load theory (CLT), and selective exposure, our study explores the relationship between the antecedents: three technological factors (information overload- system-feature overload, and privacy concerns), three psychosocial factors (fear of missing out (FoMO), self-disclosure, and social comparison) and social media fatigue. Additionally, the study explores the behavioral implications resulting from social media fatigue such as discontinued use, switching intention, and the proper coping mechanisms that social media users utilize when experiencing social media fatigue. The empirical results show that the technological and psychosocial antecedents are significantly positively correlated with social media fatigue. Furthermore, users who experience social media fatigue engage in different usage behaviors including discontinued use, willingness to switch, and utilize coping mechanisms when they are exposed to social media fatigue.;برز الإرهاق الناجم عن استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي كظاهرة حديثة يشعر بها مستخدمو هذه الوسائل بالتعب والإرهاق الناجم عن الكم الهائل من الضغوط التكنولوجية والنفسية الاجتماعية التي يتعرضون لها بشكل مستمر عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، مما يؤثر على كيفية استخدامهم لهذه المنصات، والمخاطر المتعلقة بصحتهم النفسية. لذلك، تستكشف هذه الدراسة ا
